Amy Rausch

Amy Rausch is an intercultural advisor and global mobility consultant with extensive experience consulting with multinational corporations; educating on complex cross-cultural topics; and working with international assignees and global mobility teams. Having earned a Bachelor’s in Accounting from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, Amy’s career has included tax, compensation, and international assignment policy design consulting with KPMG. As an expat living abroad in England, Amy studied Organizational Studies and International Human Resource Management at the University of Essex, completing a Master’s degree with distinction.

These expatriate experiences fueled Amy’s transition from public accounting to the intercultural field. She has completed several credentialed learning experiences, including: The Interchange Institute’s Crossing Cultures with Competence program certificate; Teaching Intercultural Communication, Personal Leadership, and Training Design for Intercultural Learning as a fellow at the Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication (SIIC); GlobeSmart®; and Cultural Navigator’s® Cultural Orientations Indicator (COI). Amy is additionally a Qualified Administrator (QA) of the Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI).

An advisor to global organizations, Amy has experience assisting during the entire international assignment lifecycle—from policy development to repatriation implications. Maintaining an inactive Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in Minnesota, Amy has coordinated with international tax providers in 16 countries for the complete and timely filing of foreign tax documents and required immigration registration to ensure international assignees’ compliance with host country regulations. In addition to delivering cultural training for US families going abroad, or families moving into the US, Amy has assisted families moving to Minnesota with destination services that help them to settle in.

Active with the Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research (SIETAR USA), Amy has served in roles ranging from Treasurer on the National Board of Directors to Conference Committees such as Sponsor Partnership Development, and at the local level as a professional development planning team member and Co-Treasurer for SIETAR Minnesota.

Amy is based in the Minneapolis area of Minnesota, USA. She works full-time as an intercultural consultant and trainer, continuing to find new ways to create her ideal global life, including offering her home to foreign exchange students, hosting international fellows at the University of Minnesota, volunteering, and traveling with friends and family.
